I really wanted to love this because I like foundations that have a light, buildable coverage and SPF, but I felt like the consistency was too thin/watery while also being too oily for my skin. The shade I got (15 Melrose) was slightly too dark/orange-pink for my skin tone, but I was afraid the next lightest shade (10 Larchmont) would’ve been too pale for me based on the pictures of the model. However, considering my skin is somewhat light and has yellow undertones, I think that shade might’ve matched a bit better. Tbh I’m hoping Tower 28 creates a hydrating tinted moisturizer like the Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue tinted gel cream that I use now. I use shade Buttercream 03 and that’s a perfect match for me, plus it doesn’t make my face feel oily (which is hard because I have dry skin) . Fingers crossed that this is just the start to Tower 28’s foundation products!
I received a sample of this product from Tower Beauty with a purchase of their SOS spray and serum products (THOSE were recommended by my aesthetician for rosacea, and have become part of my regular daily facial routine). I have consequently only tried the tinted sunscreen once. This is a very fluid product to apply, and somewhat tacky upon setting. It has medium coverage, if you're looking for that, and my sample (Melrose) suited my fair-neutral skintone well. It covers dark undereyes decently. It never dried-off completely (I wore it 6+ hours), and the color did transfer to other fabrics. If you do not have sensitive skin and are looking for a medium coverage product that leans into the dewy spectrum, this is a good option for you. Try it. If you have delicate, sensitive skin like me (Rosacea, Perioral Dermatitis, and a predisposition for hives and rashes), be aware. I did not change my normal skincare routine at all except for adding this product. I washed it off immediately after getting home, as I do with all sunscreens. My skin was very itchy around my nose and cheeks by that point (typical rosacea flare zones). Half an hour later, I had to re-wash my face with an oil-dissolving cleanser and re-do my full morning facial routine to stave off the itching. By evening, bumps had begun to form around my eyes, nose, and cheeks. By the next morning, I was having a full rosacea flare, with some ocular involvement. This sunscreen was absolutely not suitable for me, but I will continue to recommend the SOS spray and serum to anyone struggling with irritation, dehydration and/or fragile skin barrier.
I have dry, sensitive skin and I’ve tried several brands, but this is the only one that looks dewy on me and does not irritate my skin. What I love most though, is that it’s priced just right. If clean beauty was a movement, then make it accessible to more people. Thank you, Tower28! Happy to support you!
I really enjoyed this product and would highly recommend it! Coincidentally, I’ve been looking for a tinted SPF and this is a fantastic option. I have combo skin which makes it a little hard to find the sweet spot for tinted SPFs — either some are too greasy or some are too drying which causes dry spots to show on my face. This was perfect for my skin! Not greasy, not too oily, and didn’t emphasize any dry spots. It also didn’t pill which was awesome. The color matches my tone almost perfectly (which is hard to do with many other tinted spfs). The coverage is actually a lot better than advertised and very buildable. The wear was also great, stayed on the majority of the day and didn’t slide around my face or transfer too much. I would definitely recommend trying this product if you’re in the market for a nice tinted SPF.
I have been using the Supergoop CC Screen for years but after trying out the SunnyDays SPF 30 Tinted Sunscreen from Tower 28 I don't think I will go back. It's very light in feeling but heavy in coverage. It also did not leave my skin feeling greasy or runny after a long
