Absolutely love this. Not really a fan of wearing foundation as it feels so heavy, but this is so light that I wear it everyday. It’s a bonus that it has sun protection as well. Highly recommend. Also, great customer service here.
I have been hunting for a sunscreen that covers redness, matches my skin tone, doesn’t irritate my skin or smell bad, doesn’t have plant extracts…etc. I have tried many but this is my new favorite. It does stick to dry patches if I don’t exfoliate and hydrate really well. But if I do that and pat it into my skin then it looks great and the finish is nice on my combination skin.
I am South Asian, 25, medium toned and use Sunny Days in the shade PCH. It matches my undertones perfectly and I love the available range. I love this way more than I was expecting! The finish is somewhere between matte and dewy and looks natural, but still manages to conceal any redness on my face. It hasn't made me break out and I usually forget it's on my face, compared to other foundation products that I can really feel on my face after application. I use it every morning now. I use the two finger rule to make sure I'm getting enough SPF on my face with this product as well.
For me this works best as a lightweight skin tint applied with a damp beauty blender. I also like mixing it into my biossance sunscreen to make a tinted zinc sunscreen. I bought Larchment and it is too orange for my pale cool olive skintone (I wish there was a yellow fair shade!!!! Fairfax would absolutely be too pink for my skin), so I can't build it up, but a thin layer evens out my skintone nicely. I have extremely dry sensitive skin and it doesn't irritate or dry it out further.
This foundation has quickly become my go to for everyday! I absolutely love this product! I decided to not write a review until I had tried it for a little while so I can give a long term review instead of only after one use, which doesn't really say much because you have to see if it agrees with your skin long term and it definitely does in my case. For reference my skin type is sensitive and extremely dry with mild rosacea and eczema so pretty much should this foundation be tailored to my troubled skin and it sure is! Almost all foundations (and concealers) will crease on my skin and under my eyes especially and I have a couple of dry spot that always accentuate a little bit when I put something on it, mostly around my mouth and eyes which is where my eczema issues mainly lie and even though I can see the dryness just a little bit (but only when I'm looking at my skin in a magnifying mirror) I still love this product. It sits well on my skin and seems to hydrate it quite nicely, it does not crease under my eyes and it is such a plus that it has SPF in it! It has not broken out my skin, I don't deal with acne or blemishes really only in a few cases when I'm trying new skincare do I get an occasional blemish her and there but nothing in this seems to irritate my skin in that way. The shade is pretty much perfect (Melrose) for my skintone, I have fair-light skin with neutral undertones and I'm so glad that when I sent Tower28 an email before I bought the shade to ask them something about the product they told me after seeing a picture of me to get the Melrose shade instead of Larchmont (I have no idea why I was about to buy that one) and they were absolutely right! You always get amazing customer service from Tower28! The foundation does not dry out my skin anymore than it is and it stays on the skin pretty well throughout the day. Note that I do not use powder on my face to set anything as my skin is just too dry for that but that has never affected my makeup (I actually don't think that powder does anything to prolong makeup except help those with oily skin). There is no scent or fragrance in the product which I love and even though it's technically classified as a tinted sunscreen it still has beautiful coverage and definitely hides any redness or whatever you may be wanting to cover. I'm definitely going to continue purchasing this foundation as I use it almost every time I put makeup on so I hope that my shade comes back in stock soon! It's just so convenient to have foundation and a sunscreen in one and not SPF 15 or something like that but the full 30! I still use another sunscreen underneath but you can never protect your skin enough! You absolutely nailed this one Tower28 and I can't wait to see what you bring us next, I'll be waiting for my eczema approved concealer just fyi ;)
